Home Chelsea: A Great Club
Un gran club
Since Roman Abramovich’s arrival at Stamford Bridge in 2003 Chelsea have gone from strength to strength reaffirming their status as one of the number one clubs in England and across the Continent.
Last season proved another thrilling campaign as the club made history, reaching its first Champions League final in Moscow while also narrowly missing out on a third Premier League title in four years on the final day of the season.
The glamour surrounding Chelsea stretches back to its formation in 1905, and was further strengthened in the Sixties, Seventies and Nineties when players such as Peter Osgood, Gianluca Vialli and Zola graced the King’s Road as the club enjoyed a rich period of success on the pitch, winning honours at home and abroad. With undoubtedly the club’s most talented pool of players representing Chelsea today, the traditions of the club are alive and well as continued success undoubtedly beckons for one of the world football’s biggest clubs.
Chelsea Football Club’s rise as a brand has been rapid and is driven by a simple vision: By 2014 Chelsea wants to be recognised internationally as the world’s number one football club.
Against the backdrop of the Premier League which has become the most popular in the world , beamed to 185 countries every week and with the creation of the UEFA Champions League has meant that Chelsea has become a global brand which has seen it’s European fan base grow from 10.6m to 19.2m in two years (Source: Sport+Markt).
